Playdead will be at The Bazaar of the Bizarre this Sunday, October 10th. There will be lots of awesome stuff for sale there. You should also stay tuned for news about the garage sale we’ll be having soon. Along with our clothes, accessories and art, we’ll also have movie props and other cool stuff from the Mansion on sale.
A.P.E. will be playing Indie Week 2010. Facebook event here. Indie Week is also having a little battle of the bands competition and the winner will get to play in Ireland! You should come out to the show on October 16th at 11pm and check them out! We’d LOVE your support. Let’s show the Irish how Moops dance!
Today at the Playdead Mansion, we got our scavenger hunt art ready to be put up for Nuit Blanche. Check it out!
Playdead Cult on Nuit Blanche 2010
Playdead art will be placed around the streets along Queen West between Spadina and Lansdowne. The idea is to take your own photo standing next to each piece of art you discover. The more pieces you take your photo with the bigger your prize will be from Playdead. We encourage scavengers to begin their hunt at our friends businesses, The Bovine Sex Club, Shanghai Cowgirl, and The Hideout where they will be given clues for their search. We will also have larger art pieces displayed at these locations. At the end of the scavenger hunt, the participants are to come to the Playdead Mansion to show their photographic evidence of their discoveries and claim their prizes.
Within the Playdead Mansion there will be fun activities going on through the night. We will have live screen printing, interactive art and performance, souvenir-making and a Blood Splatter booth in which you can personalize your own T-shirt by splattering it with “blood”.
In light of Stu’s recent injury, Playdead Cult is having a fundraiser and art sale to help us stay afloat. Stu may not be able to create new stuff for a while, but there’s plenty of art, clothing and accessories for sale right now! Come by, take a look and bring home something cool for yourself.

For Luminato, we’ll be unveiling a sculpture made from old cellphones sponsored by Telus at Queen’s Park June 19th and 20th. It’s going to be awesome!
Also on June 19th starting at 4pm, Playdead Mansion will host yet another party, Afternoon Delight, featuring live bands in the jam space. At the end of the night, we’ll have our draw for the Death Fairy painting and one lucky winner get to take it home.
